On January 17-18, 2015 (MLK weekend), the ICFG hosted a workshop at the La Puente church, with over 65 participants. The theme was "Follow Me" (based on Luke 9:23), and we were fortunate to have bro. Edmund Reinhardt (from Toronto) as the guest speaker. Participants were invited to abandon everything for the abundant life of following Christ (i.e., discipleship). Meanwhile, believers were also challenged to consider whether they were growing in Christ or had become lukewarm.

The second session emphasized the fact that Christian discipleship is about following a person (Jesus), not a plan. Discipleship is a relationship between God’s grace and our obedience. Finally, the last section focused on what it looks like to truly follow Jesus in today's world. Following the sections, the group travelled to a local nursing home to sing to a group of residents. This was a wonderful way of putting the theme of discipleship into action.

The response to the workshop was very positive, well supported by the local leadership, and well attended by the youth and several young couples. This was an opportunity for young people to gather from all over the country (La Puente, San Diego, Clovis, Lawndale, Tecáte, North Phoenix, Mansfield, Wooster, Richmond, Kitchener, & Toronto), to be challenged & encouraged in their faith. In addition, the participants were able to strengthen the bond they share in Christ through worship and service.
